Steven Magnet was the friendly and charming sea serpent who, at least at one point, stayed in the waters of the Everfree Forest. He was best friends with Cranky Doodle Donkey and later bonded with his wife, Matilda. He was quite the adventurer in his youth.

History

Despite their differences in temperaments, Steven and Cranky were very close friends who went on a number of adventures together, apparently Cranky saved Steven from many tight spots, such as at Flash Freeze Lake and Certain Capture Caverns.[1][2] He later befriended Rarity after she helped with deal with his lost mustache in the Everfree Forest.[3] His final known activity was when he attended Cranky and Matilda's wedding.[1]

Behind the scenes

First appearing in "Friendship is Magic", Steven Magnet was presented as one of the many oddities that resided in the Everfree Forest, though it was evident that he was not a native there. Because of this, he is sometimes associated with Manny Roar and other creatures. It's unclear if Steven Magnet is a dragon, as his race is always described as 'sea serpent' or 'sea monster'.

Steven Magnet was portrayed by Lee Tockar.
