Apple Bumpkin, also known as Apple Dazzle was a Earth Pony mare and member of the Apple family, though which branch was never elaborated upon.
History[edit]
Era of Harmony[edit]
Like most members of the Apple family, Apple Bumpkin was as friendly and generous as could be, not hesitating to give Twilight Sparkle and Spike candy apples when they wandered near Sweet Apple Acres.[1]
She appeared to be very social, as around the time Razer began to rest in a cave on a mountain near Ponyville, she was hanging out with Tornado Bolt[2] and later she was seen preparing for the Welcome Princess Celestia party.[3] During the Winter Wrap Up, she was teamed up with the Blue Vests. Unlike most Apple family members, she may have been very fashionable, as she was among the ponies who swarmed Fluttershy after she became a famous model.[4]
She later crowded around to watch Rainbow Dash's heroics.[5]
She was again seen hanging out with Tornado Bolt, this time along with Rainbowshine.[6]
After Applejack headed off to Canterlot to appear in a rodeo, Apple Bumpkin attended her surprise party, and was saddened when she didn't come home.[7]
For Hearts and Hooves Day, her Very Special Somepony appeared to be Comet Tail.[8]
During Trixie's reign over Ponyville, she attended the Magic Duel.[9]
She attended the Apple Family Reunion and helped repair the destroyed born by tossing Half Baked Apple a pair of nails.[10]
Era of Twilight[edit]
She attended the Ponyville turkey call.[11]
She later hung out in Manehattan park.[12]
She attended the Wonderbolts Showcase[13] and later, the Wonderbolt Derby.[14]
During the Appleloosa County State Fair, she was seen near the Appleloosa buckball stadium.[15]
Relationships[edit]
She appeared to be close to her family and was seen hanging out with Tornado Bolt more than any other pony outside of her family.[2][6] She spent her Hearts and Hooves Day with Comet Tail, implying the two may have had a romantic connection of sorts.[8]
Her Appleoosa counterpart appeared to be good friends with Jonagold.[16][17]
Other versions[edit]
Appleoosa[edit]
An Appleoosa version of Apple Bumpkin appeared in "Over a Barrel", "Pinkie Pride", "Trade Ya!", "Appleoosa's Most Wanted", "Party Pooped" and "Buckball Season".
She was a fan of rodeo's since she was young.[18] Like most residents of Appleoosa, she was very much against the nearby Buffalo Village and particulated in the battle against them. Along with Jonagold, she defeated one of them by throwing pies at him, but ultimately realized the Buffalo were decent folk and decided to share their land with them.[16]
She was at the party Cheese Sandwich planned in Appleoosa and hung out with Berryshine during the event.[19]
She and many other Appleoosa residents traveled to Rainbow Falls to attend the Rainbow Falls Traders Exchange.[20]
She was seen walking with Jonagold.[17]
She attended a Buckball game.[21]
Unicorn[edit]
She appeared as an unicorn in My Little Pony: The Movie.
In other media[edit]
IDW comics[edit]
She only appeared in Friendship is Magic #5, on the 7th page.
She was among the ponies who appeared in Applejack's nightmare, which involved Applejack being unable to feed her family, and having them all hate her for it.
Behind the scenes[edit]
Apple Bumpkin had no speaking lines, nor any major appearances. She did, however, have several appearances. Appearing in every season, the film and an issue of the comic book series, all as a background character of course. On some merchandise, her name was Apple Dazzle instead.
