Lightning Dust is a member of the Washouts, and formerly a trainee of Wonderbolts Academy. She has an established rivalry with Rainbow Dash after being expelled from the academy due to Lightning Dust's recklessness and disregard for safety.

History

Wonderbolts Academy

Lightning Dust was a cadet at the Wonderbolts Academy, where she quickly made friends with the newly joined Rainbow Dash. However, after being assigned team leader, she soon got expelled from the Academy, with Rainbow Dash taking over her former role.

Leading the Washouts

After washing out, Lightning Dust soon formed a professional stunt pony group known as the Washouts with other washouts of Wonderbolt Academy, and began touring and performing throughout Equestria. In Season 8, she recruits Scootaloo to be part of her team, but after having the reluctant Scootaloo perform a dangerous stunt, Rainbow Dash interrupts to rescue Scootaloo, and Lightning Dust renews her rivalry with her.

Personality

Lightning Dust is a brave but reckless pegasus, who enjoys performing dangerous stunts and maneuvers but displays a regular disregard for the safety of her teammates, which has gotten her kicked out of the Wonderbolts Academy. She is also sometimes prone to holding grudges.
