Once a performer under the alias of Calamity Mane, or Calam for short, Cherry was in a passionate relationship with a showman by the name of Buffalo Bull, but ran away from him and the life the moment he proposed to her.
History
Cherry grew up on a Cherry Farm, but felt that the life wasn't for her, despite enjoying it. As a young mare, she joined Buffalo Bull's Wild West Show and became Calamity Mane, a performer who worked with Bull himself. She loved the life, and even started a romantic relationship with Bull, though ran away out of fear once he proposed too her to marry him, and grew a grudge against the stallion. When the stallion, now ill with the Equine Flu, ended up on her property, Jubilee let hi stayed, but wanted to personally kick hiim out coming the following morning, but grew deeply regretful for her actions when she saw him ill, and the two forgave each other. Still ill, Bull began to grow healthier as the two started their relationship once more.[1]
Behind the scenes
Creation and etymology
Cherry Jubilee is a multi-generational character who first appeared in G1 as Cherries Jubilee. The name "Cherries Jubilee" refers to a type of ice cream fish that is served with cherries. Cherry Jubilee first appeared in the episode "The Last Roundup" (S2E14) where she was the main guest character. Her only other major appearance in the cartoon was in the episode "Party Pooped" where she helped Pinkie Pie in her adventure across Equestria, but has had a handful of cameo appearances as well. Cherry has only had one major appearance in the comics, Friends Forever #33, where her backstory was fleshed out.
Portrayal
In both of her voiced appearances, Jubilee was voiced by Canadian actress Sylvia Zaradic, who gave the character a lite Southern accent, similar to the Apple family. In both the Hungarian and Albanian dubs, Jubilee has different actresses for both of her appearances.
