Starlight Glimmer is a Unicorn from Canterlot and currently works as the guidance councilor for the School of Friendship.
History
Early life
Starlight Glimmer was born in Sire's Hollow as the daughter of Firelight and Starlight's mother. When she was little, she had a best friend named Sunburst, who was also a unicorn. They frequently played board games such as Dragon Pit together. One day, when Sunburst showed exceptional skill using his magic, he earned his cutie mark and left the town.[4] This made Starlight lonely and fearful, believing that cutie marks drove ponies apart. This moment would also be the catalyst for her beliefs during her time as Founder of Our Town.
Starlight would continue living with her parents as a teenager, as evidenced by the gothic theme in her room from her teen years.[5] It's unknown when or how Starlight got her cutie mark, but it was likely during this time as she's shown with one as an adult.
Later life
At some point after becoming the Headmare of the School of Friendship, Starlight may have started a relationship with Sunburst and had a daughter named Luster Dawn, who went on to become Twilight Sparkle's pupil.[6]
