Lily Pad is a young, quiet and meek girl who Pinkie Pie babysat. Afterwards, the two seemingly became good friends and hang out occasionally.

History

Girl pirates

Lily Pad was supposed to be babysat by Rarity, but when she was invited to the Young Designers' Gala, she had to cancel and instead passed Lily on to Pinkie Pie instead. When she arrived at the Pie residence, Lily Pad was put off by Pinkie's eccentric personality, but was otherwise polite to the teen. While being babysat, Pinkie grew bored due to Lily's passive and stationary nature. Pinkie asked Lily Pad what she was reading and as Lily Pad described it, Pinkie Pie began to reenact the story for her, in a much weirder fashion. Pinkie soon grew tired and Lily Pad helped her to sleep. Before she fell asleep, Pinkie told Lily Pad that she'll make a wonderful babysitter, and Lily Pad hoped that she'll be as good as Pinkie one day.[1]

Last days of school

At some point, she and her (presumed) mother were seen at the Canterlot planetarium.[2]

Lily Pad and Pinkie later played ball at the Canterlot beach while Twilight Sparkle was quantifying her and Pinkie's friendship.[3]

At the beach, she was seen playing with Mint Chip and Technicolor Waves.[4]

Spring break

Lily Pad spent her spring break on the Lux Deluxe with her family. In the petting zoo, she was gently playing with the baby goats and sheep until Rainbow Dash made a fool of herself and accused Mister Bouncy and his grandchildren as being evil rabbits, which scared off all the animals, causing Lily Pad to grow sad.[5]

As the ship began to sink, Lily Pad was among the first people rescued.[5]

Holiday season

During the holidays, Lily Pad and Victoria spent time together at the Canterlot Mall with Lily Pad holding her hand and smiling.[6]

Personality

Lily Pad was a quiet, timid girl who mostly kept to herself. She was generally polite and friendly, but was put off by Pinkie's antics. After being babysat, she seemed to have taken to Pinkie Pie as almost an older sister of sorts, as she looked up to her and played with her on occasions. She appeared to be a voracious reader with an interest for adventure stories in particular.

Personal life

Family

Lily Pad may be related to Victoria and Water Lily, given their similar appearances and the fact that they have been seen playing together or in the same location at multiple occurrences. An older gentleman, an employee at Canterlot Planetarium, also bares a resemblance towards her. She appears to be close with Victoria and Water Lily.

Behind the scenes

Lily Pad was portrayed as Tabitha St. Germain in her debut appearance, but Lily Pad has remained silent in subsequent appearances. Her first appearance in "Pinkie Sitting" portrayed her as a meek, but kind girl with a love for reading, while later appearances played up her intellectual side by showing her at museums and her playful and even vain side, such as when she played at the beach with Technicolor Waves and Mint Chip or when she sunbathed on the Lux Deluxe.

Although one of the extremely few named Equestria Girls characters who isn't a primary character, Lily Pad appeared to have devolved into another background character in her later appearances. Despite this, the continuity of her family has remained very consistent throughout the series.

She occupies the "Older kid archetype" along with Technicolor Waves, Megan and Mint Chip.

There may have been an animation error regarding Lily Pad in Equestria Girls: Spring Breakdown. In one of the specials final scenes, Sunset Shimmer reunites Water Lily with Victoria after she got separate when she wanted to save her stuffed animal. When the family was seen on Magic island, Lily Pad was seen hugging the animal, while Water Lily was being held by Victoria. Given their similar appearances, it was possible the animators forgot who was who, or it could be a sign that Water Lily risked her life for Lily Pad's stuffed animal.

Being one of the few Equestria Girls characters to be given names, Lily Pad was a fairly popular character among fans after her first appearance, but hasn't received much attention since. Fans tend to portray Lily Pad as an extremely nerdy character in what little fanworks she appears in.
