Adagio Dazzle is one of the three Dazzlings, alongside Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze. The de-facto leader of the operation, Adagio is often front-and-center, leading on her two fellow Dazzlings wherever they may go. Despite being the leader, she isn't always in control of her group, often being at loggerheads with her fellow Sirens. A cruel and manipulative individual, Adagio is without any sense of morals and will do anything to grow more powerful.

History

Banishment

Adagio, Sonata and Aria appearing before Stygian in their Siren forms

Adagio was born well over 1,000 years prior to her banishment, making her earliest known activity in the Age of Heroes. At some point prior to his eventual fall into darkness, Adagio would meet the meek unicorn Stygian as she and her sisters washed up on the beach of his village. Initially keeping a calm disposition, Adagio talked to Stygian as if she was a benign entity, only wanting to perform a concert. After Stygian fumbled on the response, not thinking his town would want it, Adagio showed her true colors and aggressively lashed out at him. After yelling that his town would be blessed by her presence, her sister managed to calm her down enough to talk civilly once again. However, the damage was done and Stygian ran back to his village with the excuse that he had responsibilities to tend to. The following day, after performing chores for Ms. Malus, Stygian traveled back into his village only to see the Dazzlings had already invaded and used their magic to hypnotize his fellow townsponies. Feeling a new resolve, Stygian ran back to his house and prepared to go on an adventure to stop the Dazzlings with the help of famous heroes.[1]

While ruling, Adagio and her sisters were considered "queens" by the townsfolk, who did everything for them. Eventually, Stygian came back with a party of the "Pillars of Equestria" Rockhoof, Somnambula, Mistmane, Flash Magnus, Mage Meadowbrook and Starswirl the Bearded. Despite their great power, the battle was short and rather one sided as the Pillars handilly defeated the Dazzlings and their small army. Having previously deduced that the Dazzlings would never change their ways, the Pillars had made the hard choice to merely banish them, and banish them they did.[2]

1,000 years later

It may very well likely be true that their banishment didn't just send them across space, but also time as they ended up in a modern alley way of Canterlot, Equestria. In Equestria, books and legends were told of the creatures and Starswirls banishment of them. Whether by mistake of the writers, or Starswirl's own ego, the tales of banishment only spoke of his involvement in the events. Although at the time his exploits in their banishment were considered heroic, modern scholars would later consider the way he handled the event to be irresponsible and dangerous, as Adagio and her sisters nearly took over another, defenseless world.[2]
