Curly Winds was a student at Canterlot High School and one of its premiere athletes. However, as is the norm with most athletes at that school who aren't named Rainbow Dash, the actual sports he plays are kind of vague.

History

They enjoyed their holidays

Curly Winds seemed to spend most of his free time hanging out with his best friend Wiz Kid. The two have been shown to be very open with their relationship, whether it be platonic or romantic, going as far as to hold hands in public spaces.[1] Aside from his vanity caused by his physical build, Curly Winds appears to be friendly and selfless, saving Wiz Kid's life from drowning when they were on the Lux Deluxe[2] Other than Wiz Kid, his friends seem to include Teddy, Cloudy Kicks and Tennis Match.

As for his athletic career...well, it's kind of vague. He's been seen playing catch with a football, implying he may be a football player, however he's been seen in-uniform with Cloudy Kicks and Scribble Dee, two known soccer players...however they appeared to be doing cheer-leader poses together so many they're very multi-talented.

Personality and traits

Curly Winds was muscular and large. Next to Teddy, he appeared to be the largest student at CHS and among the strongest. During warmer seasons, he wore a standard T-shirt with a tornado emblazoned onto it, though during colder seasons, he wore a jacket with tornadoes on the sleeves and a grayish-blue shirt underneath.

He was shown to be kind-hearted, never really showing anger towards anyone though occasionally laughed at others when they made fools of themselves, though was otherwise generally shown to care about his fellow students, helping them in dire situations. Like Teddy, even though he was an athlete, just what he was an athlete in r emained vague.

As Teddy was shown to be rather proud of his strength and dexterity, Curly seemed to be fairly vane in his appearance and enjoyed showing off his muscles towards his friends Tennis Match and Cloudy Kicks.

Although he has been shown to be generally calm, he was prone to emotional moments in particular moments, such as when he met up with Wiz Kid during Christmas and hugged him.

Relationships

Wiz Kid

No heterosexual explanation for this.

Curly and Wiz Kid didn't appear to be friends until Twilight Sparkle came to their world and indirectly had the two work together to fix up their gym. Their first known meeting was when Wiz Kid nearly fell off a latter while trying to hook up cameras and Curly helped him by holding his latter in place. Ever since then, the two developed a strong, and most likely romantic friendship.

Obvious signs of the two's bond was seen when they went to Equestria Land together and held each others hand as they happily explore the amusement park and when Curly saved Wiz Kid's life by carrying his body out of the sinking Lux Deluxe. During the Christmas season, the two blushed in each others company and lovingly hugged one another when they exchanged gifts.

Teddy

Curly appeared to be friends with Teddy, being another muscular athlete the two hung out and showed off their physical prowess.

Curly enjoyed showing off his muscles to Tennis Match and Cloudy Kicks.

Behind the scenes

Curly Winds was introduced in My Little Pony: Equestria Girls as a minor background character with superficial personality traits. However, as is the usual for characters in Generation 4 media, Curly Winds grew and developed into a fully fleshed out figure by the end of the series, with his own obvious personality traits and relationships. Though he was never elevated from the status of background character, he had his own character arc going from a stereotypical jock to a best friend to Wiz Kid, a timid nerd.

Naming

Curly Winds was never given an official name, and so "Curly Winds" is generally the most accepted fan name. An older fan name was "Some Blue Guy".
