The last daughter of Bright Mac and Pear Butter and their youngest sibling overall, Apple Bloom was a founding member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, along with Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. Strong willed, determined and caring, Apple Bloom brings a more modern perspective to the rustic ways of Apple family while remaining true to her upbringing.
History
Early life
Apple Bloom was born to Bright Mac and Pear Butter. The youngest of their daughters and children as a whole, Apple Bloom didn't know her parents very well. Though their final fate is ultimately left in the air, Apple Bloom and her siblings get visibly sad whenever their parents are brought up, implying their fate was not a pleasant one. Despite the fact her parents were absent from most of her life, Apple Bloom still had a pleasant childhood filled with lots of love as she was raised by her two older siblings and her loving, if absentminded grandmother. Apple Bloom was shown to be good friends with Twist in her earlier appearances, but the two hardly interact anymore. They still seem to be on friendly terms however, even if they don't hang out anymore. Apple Bloom has a pet dog named Winona. Even though Winona is more of Applejack's pet, she and Apple Bloom seem to get along greatly.
Brewing work
After befriending Zecora,[1] Apple Bloom picked up brewing as a hobby and potential career path. She later tried to refine her skill with the tutorage of Twilight Sparkle when she tutored all three of the crusaders[2] and later tried to get her friends into brewing as well, but it didn't go anywhere.[citation needed] Ultimately, Apple Bloom did not appear to become a professional brewer in her older age.[3]
Teaching career and late life
Apple Bloom got a job at the School of Friendship alongside her fellow Crusaders, though the subjects they taught were unclear. She would gain a nephew in this time, a little foal named Big Sugar who was the son of Big Mac and Sugar Belle. She seemed to become friends with Ocellus around this time as well.[3]
Personal life
Apple Bloom goes to Ponyville School House under the teaching of Cheerilee. Apple Bloom seems to really enjoy her class and loves Cheerilee dearly, going out of her way to try and make Cheerilee happy and shows lots of concern for her teacher. Apple Bloom has lots of friends, and as Applejack once said, she's loved by everypony she knows. While that's not completely true, Apple Bloom does have a wide and caring group of friends, such as Snips, Snails, Spike, Twilight Sparkle and of course, her best friends in the whole wide world, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle. With her two best friends, Apple Bloom founded the Cutie Mark Crusaders and the three grew a practically unbreakable bond.

Personality
Much like her two dearest friends, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom was initially defined by her goal to earn her Cutie Mark. Even before receiving he Cutie Mark, Apple Bloom eventually mellowed out on this endeavor, often putting others above her own ambitions, but still remained determined and enthusiastic. In the days prior to receiving her Cutie Mark, Apple Bloom seemed to grow a darker, almost cynical outlook on Cutie Marks as a whole, deep down believing them to be more trouble then they're worth and would drive her away from those she loved. These darker feelings eventually went away as Apple Bloom realized that thinking in that way was shallow, at best.
Apple Bloom is caring and compassionate, she openly showers her siblings with love and affection and while she doesn't spend as much time with her big brother, she loves him just as much. She's also shown to be close with Granny Smith and though she's sometimes embarrassed of her old-time ways, she and her Grandma have a very loving relationship. Apple Bloom is very much brave and strong willed, though how much of her bravery is actually ignorance is often left in he air. Regardless, she often sneaks out of her elders sights and braves dangerous environments to prove herself. Apple Bloom is selfless and sweet-natured, and though she can be short-sighted, she does her best to look out for others. She makes friends quite easily and doesn't seem to hold grudges. She felt remorseful towards Snips and Snails for how badly she treated them by acting like they were morons instead of ponies with feelings, but the pair of boys didn't seem to hold any feelings against Apple Bloom for her actions.
On a few occasions, Apple Bloom has demonstrated a strong imagination. However, this imagination of hers isn't always a blessing. It has caused her to overthink situations and even cause nightmares.
