Ms. Harshwhinny is an Earth Pony mare who is head of the Equestria Games.

History

As head of the Equestria Games, Ms. Harshwhinny was invited to the Crystal Empire to evaluate it as a host for the next occurrence of that competition. The Mane Six were tasked by Princess Cadance with greeting her at the Crystal Empire train station and showing her around the Empire. Unfortunately, they mistook Ms. Peachbottom for the games inspector, and thus proceeded to give her the tour they had planned for Harshwhinny. Left ungreeted and forced to make her own way, she eventually came to the Crystal Empire spa, where she inadvertently ran into the Mane Six, Cadance, and Ms. Peachbottom. Though greatly annoyed at the case of mistaken identity, she was greatly pleased by Ms. Peachbottom's report of the attention she had been given in Harshwhinny's stead, and thus announced that the Crystal Empire would host the next games.

Ms. Harshwhinny later visited Ponyville Schoolhouse in order to announce a contest to the students, the winning team of which would gain the honor of carrying the Ponyville flag during the upcoming games ceremonies. She and Rainbow Dash served as judges for this competition, and Harshwhinny took Rainbow Dash to task more than once for her exuberance. However, she later got a taste of her own medicine after responding with awe to the performance of the Cutie Mark Crusaders. During the games, Ms. Harshwhinny gave Spike instructions regarding his role in lighting the torch during the opening ceremonies. She grew impatient when he hesitated, but was surprised when the torch lit due to the unseen intervention of Twilight Sparkle.

Personality

Ms. Harshwhinny often affects a cool, professional demeanor in her Equestria Games-related duties, and has become somewhat jaded as a result of the many acts put on by cities wishing to host the event. However, she seems to have a genuine love for her job, and at times displays more excitement and kindness.
