The Convocation of the Creatures was a recurring gathering of representatives from various nations and/or species inhabiting the world of Equestria.

History

The Convocation’s origins are unknown, but it continued some time into the period of Nightmare Moon’s banishment. It was then discontinued for unknown reasons. After the defeat of the Storm King after the Sacking of Canterlot, a Convocation was at last held again. It would be the first event of its kind to be held in 753 years.

Taking place at the Hall of Unity, the Convocation was attended by representatives from many nations, regions, and species. These notably included the recently reformed Changelings under Thorax, the Crystal Empire, Mount Aris/Seaquestria, and Yakyakistan. The many visitors engaged in numerous activities, from matters of diplomacy to entertainment me and exhibitions from the various participating lands. However, perhaps the most exciting incident at this Convocation was the Equestria-Griffonstone Treaty Crisis.

Absences

Though described by Twilight Sparkle as hosting “the leaders of every land”, a number of said rulers were actually absent. Several lands were also not seen or known to have dispatched representatives.

Caninia

Cunabula

The obvious reason for Cunabula’s failure to participate was their policy of isolation and concealment from the rest of the world.

Farasi

Infernal Lands

The status of the Infernal Lands at the time of the convocation is unknown. Lord Tirek, formerly a prince of that realm, was known to be incarcerated in Tartarus. Whether his brother Scorpan still lived and ruled their homeland, or rule was held by some other member of the Infernal Lands royal family or another entity altogether, are all uncertain.

Kirin

At the time of the Convocation, the Kirin were still living in isolation. Their residence in the Peaks of Peril had been mere rumor among the ponies of Equestria as far back as the Age of Heroes.

Nyx

Though friendly with the ponies of Equestria upon their last encounter, the Nyx reside on the Moon. Travel between that celestial body and the planet on which Equestria is found is only possible through powerful magic, which the Nyx are not known to possess themselves.

Ornithia

Storm King's Realm

The status of the Storm King’s realm after his death is uncertain. Assuming any remnant of his forces remained as a viable political entity, it is possible that they were unwilling or unable to send representatives. Moreover, they might have been barred from attendance due to their previous hostile actions against at least three of the nations that participated in the Convocation.

Thrace

Thrace is another island nation isolated from other lands, most notably Equestria.

Umbrum

All known Umbrum were confined in the Shadow Prison.
