Zipporwhill was a filly pegasus from Ponyville, Equestria. She lived in a average sized house with her father and dog, Ripley.
History
In the first year of the Era of Twilight, Zipporwhill found her dog, Ripley and got her cutie mark in the process. She attended a concert by the Wondertones with her beloved dog and her father booked the band to appear at her cute-cenera celebration.[1]
Years later, Ripley was all grown up and no longer enjoyed the same toys he did as a puppy, leading Zipporwhill to believe that he no longer loved her. Worried, she got help from the Cutie Mark Crusaders to help them reconnect and despite their best efforts, they didn't know what to do. Zipporwhill sulked in the Ponyville Picnic Area when Sweetie Belle discovered her and gave her solid advice on what to do with Ripley, letting her know that he wasn't a puppy anymore, but a fully grown dog and that she needed to find new ways to play with him. After a stick fell, Ripley started playing with the stick, leading to him and Zipporwhill to play fetch together.[2]
Years later again, Zipporwhill and Ripley appeared at a celebration celebrating all the good Scootaloo has done in Ponyville in order to convince her parents not to force her to move to Shire Lanka.[3]
Personality
Zipporwhill appeared to be a feminine, energetic and sweet-natured filly. Her father may have been a single parent, as her mother was never seen, and the two had a loving relationship with one another. Given her and her fathers accent, they may have not been from Ponyville but otherwise seemed to love the town as their home.
She loved her dog, Ripley, very much, and especially loved playing with him. As such, when she felt like he didn't love her anymore, she took the blow very personally.
Abilities
Probably due to her incredible energy, she was very fast and a skilled flier in spite of her young age. She may have been a skilled animal trainer as well, given how she got her cutie mark in dog care.

Pinkie Pie mentioned her by name when counting all of her friends in alphabetical order.[4]

Zipporwhill appears in My Little Pony (Gameloft) as an Earth Pony instead of a pegasus. She lives in the Enthusiast' Home and was added in the Everfree Forest update. She generates 70 experience points upon creation.
Behind the scenes
Portrayal
In the English dub, Zipporwhill was portrayed by Tabitha St. Germain, who does the voice for Rarity and most female characters with unusual accents or speaking patterns, such as Derpy. Her accent appears to be based off Latin American accents.
Etymology
Her name comes from the species of bird, the whippoorwill, and the fact that she flew in a very energetic motion, hence "zip" according to Amy Keating Rogers.
Trivia
- Both of her major episode appearances feature the word "Filly", though "Filli Vanilli" is a variation on it.
- Zipporwhill was one of the two characters mentioned by Pinkie Pie in Holidays Unwrapped to never actually appear in Equestria Girls, the other being Chumbly-Bonk-Bonk, who is actually an entirely original character, making Zipporwhill the only pre-existing character in that list.
