Turul
A Turul is a large, avian creature who live within mountainous areas.
Biology and behavior
Turul's look similar to eagles and other birds of prey and are characterized by their utterly massive size. They have great body feathers, with their wing feathers going from white to a washed out cream color. Their head feathers are distinctly white as well. Uniquely, their talons and beak are a shade of blue. Turul's are very intelligent birds, and apparently an ancient species predating Equestria. Turul's are also quite rare and have gained a legendary status among Equestrians. Cheerilee was confident they existed, but claimed she never saw one.
History
Cheerilee said that the crown worn by the Turul of Foal Mountains wore a crown older than Equestria. The Cutie Mark Crusaders believed they saw a Turul but couldn't make it out. The following morning, Diamond Tiara and Apple Bloom encountered the Turul in flesh, but it was aggressive towards them, though left them be.
