Tirac used the Rainbow of Darkness to transform the Human prince Scorpan into a hideous gargoyle, and forced him to serve as his chief minion.

The Gargoyles are native to the Infernal Lands, which they share with the Centaurs.
Biology
Gargoyles have long, almost rodent-like snouts on their faces, which can be tan or grayish-brown in color. They have thick hair, resembling a lion's mane, on or around their heads, from which emerge pointed ears of the same color as their faces. Gargoyles also sport bat-like wings; the one specimen seen in Ponyland possessed massive wings, while those of the Infernal Lands possess much smaller wings. Gargoyles also have long, thin tails, which can end in tufts of thicker fur.
