King Guto was the last of the 14 kings of Griffonstone.

History

Guto was the last king of Griffonestone and sometime after his reign, the realm became a lordship instead. Guto's reign was defined by his encounter with the Arimaspi, a creature who desired the Idol of Boreas for itself and fought Guto for it. Though Guto put up a valiant effort, the Arimaspi eventually took it but died as it fell into the Abysmal Abyss.

The Guto River was likely named after Guto.

Etymology

"Guto" is a Welsh name that derives from Augustus. The name was likely picked due to starting with "G", since every Griffon in the show has a name that starts with G, as it otherwise goes against the Pontic inspiration.
