'Gretchen was a female Griffon who lived in Griffonstone during the Era of Twilight.

Behind the scenes
Gretchen was one of three Griffons, along with Greta and Grampa Gruff, whose designs varied between their appearances in "The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone" and Friends Forever #24. Unlike Greta and Gruff, this was not a result of miscommunication, but rather a case of a name used for on the of the Friends Forever Griffons later being assigned to an unnamed background Griffon by the collectible card game.
