The Cochrane Observation Field is a field located near Ponyville in Equestria. The ambient light from houses can still be seen from its hills, meaning it's very close. It's a lush and hilly valley used to observe cosmic phenomenon.
History
The Mane Six, Spike, Starlight Glimmer and most of Ponyville traveled to the field to witness the legendary Cosmic Convergence. However, as they tried to enjoy the event, Discord showed up and desperately tried to become the center of attention. When the others scolded him for his actions, Discord sulked off and turned himself into an egg in the field, so he could be reborn as someone better.[1]
