In fanfiction
The Rainbow Factory was featured in an early My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fanfiction and other fanworks as a horrific pace that killed weak pegasi to use them to produce rainbows. Music videos and fanarts based off the fanfictions depicted it as a terrifying place.
