Centaur Castle is a Castle once located in the Infernal Lands.
History
Little is known of the Castle’s history before a certain incident that occurred in the reign of the Centaur King Vorak and the Gargoyle Queen Haydon. Their sons, Scorpan and Tirek, were princes of the Castle, though Tirek was a constant disappointment to his father Vorak. A large part of this centered on Tirek’s relationship with Sendak the Elder, a malevolent hermit living in the nearby Nether Lands. Tirek’s final two visits culminated in the discovery that Sendak has abducted a Unicorn stallion from Equestria, which horrified Vorak.
Vorak has Sendak sentenced for his crime, and confronted Tirek regarding his knowledge of events. Tirek denied any involvement, and Vorak confined him to his room. As Vorak left to lead an embassy to Equestria to return the hostage and apologize to Princess Celestia, Tirek secretly vowed to overthrow Vorak and claim the throne for himself. Whether or not he eventually succeeded is unknown.
In other media
The Castle appears in My Little Pony: Magic Princess as both a setting in the Tale of Tirek event and a residential location. It is, like many locations in the game, located rather bizarrely in Ponyville. Somewhat less bizarrely, it is home to Sendak the Elder rather than the Hermit's Cave, though this could be seen as reflecting Sendak's imprisonment in the castle dungeons after the incident with the Ancient Hostage Pony.
