Northern Equestria
Northern Equestria is a region of Equestria located somewhere in the north. It is a mostly lush and green section of Equestria with a large desert seemingly surrounding it. During the Age of Heroes, it served as the home of the Mighty Helm and Royal Legion.
Behind the scenes[edit]
Northern Equestria was modeled after the Celtic civilizations of Europe. The buildings are heavily modeled after popular depiction of Celtic architecture and several of their cutie marks strongly resemble that of traditional Celtic imagery. Additionally, several ponies had varying shades of red coats, likely a reference to the red hair commonly associated with Celts.
