"The Prince and the Ponies" is the twenty-sixth and penultimate story of the 1980s animated series My Little Pony. It is a one-shot episode, making it the ninth one of such. Notably, it is the last episode in the series to be original, as the series finale, Escape from Katrina is a re-edit of the film of the same name. It also marks the last work of David Wise on the franchise, and be the episode he would most fondly remember.

Quotes

Notes

  • Writer David Wise in a 2013 interview recalled the episode to be one of the better episodes he wrote for the series, as it dealt with "real child psychology" with how the Baby Ponies treated the Newborn Ponies. He also enjoyed how "gruesome" some aspects of the episode were, such as the depictions of torture and hellfire.[1]
