History

2013 marked a transitional period between Friendship is Magic season 3 and 4, with neither season primarily taking place in either year. The first episode to air in 2013 was "Keep Calm and Flutter On" on January 19, 2013 and the last was December 28, 2013, nearly an entire year later.

In spite of the awkward placement, the storyline impact of animated stories that aired in 2013 can not be understated. Several big events in the shows storyline happened, such as the redemption of series villain Discord, the coronation of Twilight Sparkle, the reveal of the Equestria Tree of Harmony and the debut of the Equestria Girls brand with My Little Pony: Equestria Girls
