My Little Pony: Generations is a comic book series by IDW Publishing. It is a crossover between the Friendship is Magic continuity and that of My Little Pony. It was the first Friendship is Magic comic announced after the conclusion of the main comic series at Friendship is Magic #102. It was later followed by My Little Pony: Classics Reimagined—Little Fillies.

History

The series was announced in June, 2021, in the same announcement that said that the main series would officially be ending after an impressive 102 issues, making it among the longest TV-show tie-in comic book series (seemingly only surpassed by a handful of Scooby-Doo series). It will begin its publication in October of the same year and will last for 5 issues.[1] According to Casey Gilly, the series was in production as early as January 2020.[2]

Creative team

The currently confirmed team for Generations is largely new faces, but it seems that familiar talent may be returning as well. The writer is none other then Casey Gilly, a fairly prolific writer for Image Comics, while the artist is Michela Cacciatore, who has illustrated for the French comic book, Léna, rêve d'étoile. All released covers have had artwork done by Heather Breckel.
