  • In the original source material, Robert March (here referred to as 'Mr. March') was a chaplain of the Union Army in the U.S. Civil War. In here, he is presumably the same or similar rank of an army similar to the Union, but is instead fighting in a war between Caninia and Abyssinia. Why he, an Equestrian, is involved in a war of two other nations is unclear.
  • In the original source material, Amy's love interest is Theodore "Laurie" Laurence, nicknamed to Teddy by Jo. Here, they are renamed to Theodora "Laurie" Laurence, nicknamed to Dora in general. As their love interest is Amy, who here is presented by Rarity, it could be a nod to how frequently Applejack and Rarity are shipped, and/or how close they were to being an official couple.
