Cosmos
Cosmos was an unnused character to be featured in My Little Pony: The Movie. Intended to be the lost brother of the Royal Sisters, a rough wild-pony, an adventurer and even another race entirely, Cosmos would eventually evolve into the rough, yet ultimately kind-hearted Tempest Shadow.
Production history
During the April-May period of 2015, Cosmos was a mare, pony-like creature with attributes from other species like a snake-like tail and eyes. Some designs even depicted her with mechanical attributes such as a brass leg. Two things remained consistent in these designs however, her broken horn and cut-up, uncared for body. Indeed, Tempest originally had far more mutilations than just her horn with some designs emphasizing a bloodier depiction of her body. As the months went on, the cut up, snake-like look diminished and she began to look more like an aged, stone-faced and cruel unicorn, bearing typical colorings of averge ponies in Equestria, such as bright pinks or blues.[1]
Circa September 27, 2015, Cosmos was a male, pony who was Princess Celestia's brother. Although he was a pony, his armor gave him a a monstrous-goat like appearance with imposing horns with blue streaks. Another design sported a griffon-like appearance that would serve as a red-herring. An undated design depicted him with bulky, bronze-looking armor with messy, red markings and a mechanism used to make his neck move easier. Another design dated to October 12, 2015 showed a much sleeker design with slick, black, clean armor with a red shawl. This version of Cosmos had glowing blue yes instead of horns and and overall less bulky look. One other design was drawn on this day by was mostly similar but instead of a red shawl, he adorned a large, red mane-like attire with large, elongated teeth and ore subdued eyes.[2]
Personality
From what can be gleamed from Cosmos's design, Cosmos appeared to be cold, callous, serious and stoic-faced in contrast to the more emotional and angry Tempest Shadow he would eventually be morphed into.
