The element of honesty

Applejack is one honest pony. From her humble beginnings in 1983 as one of the many ponies featured in the "Year Two" era of the My Little Pony brand to one of the most iconic and important characters of the brand. Representing honesty, hard-work and a parental love for those around her, Applejack is traditionally depicted as a rustic, family-oriented farmer who lives a simple life, but is far more complex and multi-faceted than her initial impression may allude to.

Beginning in Generation 4, Applejack is a member of the massive Apple family and Mane Six, living in Ponyville with her grandmother, Granny Smith and her siblings, Big McIntosh and Apple Bloom, a big brother and little sister respectively. She would raise many animals, such as her pet dog, Winona. Of her friends, Applejack has been most associated with Rainbow Dash and Rarity -- both of whom she (may) have been romantically linked too, depending on who you ask.

Although undoubtedly an upstanding and righteous pony, Applejack has bene marred with flaws of her own, typically stubbornness, over-protectiveness and even at times a holier than thou nature. In some realities, she's a criminal, but who isn't?

Applejack's first media appearance was in "Escape From Midnight Castle", written by George Arthur Bloom and directed by John Gibbs. Applejack would be retooled by Lauren Faust in 2010 as a main character for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. She has been voiced by Sandy Duncan, Ashleigh Ball and Kira Buckland, and has been portrayed in live action by Natalie Bryant, among several other unidentified actors.
