Behind the scenes

Ogres and Oubliettes is a pun on Dungeons and Dragons, a game published by Hasbro subsidiary, Wizards of the Coast. Its debut episode, "Dungeons & Discords" is another pun on the game. In a moment of poetic irony, the popular Dungeons and Dragons fan-series, Critical Role would do an episode on the first My Little Pony tabletop game, My Little Pony: Tails of Equestria.

There was an unidentified roleplaying game featured in Friendship is Magic #80 played by the Mane Six and friends.
