Twist is candy-making, candy-loving filly whose good friends with the Cutie Mark Crusaders, particularly close to Apple Bloom, though the two appeared to drift apart after Twist received her cutie mark, two candy-canes making a heart.

History

Being a skilled baker, Twist gained her cutie-mark in the candy-making arts. She seemed to be one of the last foals in Ponyville Schoolhouse to receive a cutie mark however, and thus was a target of harrassment from Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon.[1] After realizing her talent, Twist was often seen with the other kids in her school, particuating in a talent show[2], a field-trip to Canterlot[3], the admiration of Twilight Sparkle.[4], and the Equestria Games.[5]

Twist would presumably grow up in Ponyville and remained there in her adult life.[6]

Personality

Behind the scenes

One of the "characters that time forgot", Twist seemed to be shaping up to be a prominent character in CMC stories, but quickly faded away as other characters gained more depth and new ones were introduced. Indeed, Twist effectively became a background character by the end of season 2 (though even several background characters have more screentime and dialogue then her) and her last speaking role was in "The Cutie Pox". She still appeared in various group-shots, usually with her class-mates but sometimes on her own, but didn't affect the plot.

She has been mildly more promient in spin-off material, though largely only appeared in shots with her classmates.

Possible relative

Twist has been spotted with Candy Mane on two occasions, first in "Inspiration Manifestation" during the Foal and FIlly Fair and later in the Changelingverse in her hutt, implying some sort of relationship.
