"Look Before You Sleep" is the eighth episode of the first season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It features Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, and Rarity attempting to have a sleepover.

Synopsis

Rarity, Applejack, and other Ponyville residents are preparing nature for an upcoming storm. Rarity and Applejack are caught outside when the storm begins; they take refuge in Golden Oak Library with Twilight Sparkle. With the storm making travel difficult, Twilight decides to have a slumber party. Rarity and Applejack feud through the night, with the former hating the latter's messiness and the latter hating the former's prissiness; Twilight is unaware of this conflict, instead simply being excited about traditional slumber-party rituals.

As Twilight finally gets fed up, lightning strikes a nearby tree; Applejack lassos it so that it doesn't fall into a house, but it instead fall into Twilight's house. Rarity helps Applejack get the branch out of the house, but only after a genuine plea. With the branch cleared and a friendship mended, the three finally have fun at the slumber party.

Twilight's friendship report is about looking beyond differences to be friends with somepony.
