Business and charity

In 2001, Tara and her husband Craig Strong launched VoiceStarz, a business and website met to teach individuals on how to become voice actors. Before its closure in around 2015, according to claimed customers/students of the company, the cost of the classes would cost 179 to 200 USD per year, with the student mailing in an audition tape where Tar would review the audition.[1]

Several acclaimed and well-known voice actors were apart of the cast of VoiceStarz, notably including Billy West, Grey Delisle, Frank Welker, and Lauren Faust, among countless more.[2] The website was advertised through Strong's main website[3] and advertised other business ventures by strong, Taralicious and BabaBaby.[4] The former was an online shop where fans could buy Strong-branded merchandise (often branded with iconography of Taralicious, her OC) with a portion of the proceeds going to charity.[5] These charities were largely dedicated to helping families fund the money required for medical procedures for their children,[6] including a girl named Kiki, who was the little sister of Strongs son.[5]

Strong's other business, BabaBaby was unlike her previous two, as it was not voice related, but drew from her frustrations as a working mother.[7] The company sold baby bottles designed for breastfeeding in mind, and received some publicity, featured in publications such as Jennslist, thehealthybelly, and on the cover of the December 2010 Hudson's magazine cover.[7]

According to an anonymous user of VoiceStarz, the company may have never officially been a business, as they were denied their trademark, yet continued to potentially illegally operate for 15 years, before shutting down in 2015[1]
