Mudbriar was fascinated with sticks and wood in general, and very passionate about stick rights. He hated [[Pinata]], as he believed it was "[[Stick Abuse]]". Mudbriar was notably more emotional than Maud, smiling more often and showing signs of extreme emotion when he felt like this beloved sticks were being harmed, but was open-minded enough to know that most ponies who abused sticks weren't bad ponies. He was very polite and courteous of others feelings, even if his demeanor made it hard to show. He wanted to make sure he spoke with precision to show just how he felt and wanted others to feel, though his lack of emotion made his efforts rather moot.
Overall, Mudbriar was kind-hearted, friendly and generally just good-natured. Even before he called Pinkie Pie his friend, he seemed to care about her and was sad to see her
