Publishers summary

It’s Foals and Friends Weekend at the Wonderbolts Academy, but after an accident during practice, Rumble finds himself grounded. Good thing General Dauntless is there with a story or two to tell! Including one about the only Earth pony who has ever been a member of the Wonderbolts...

Story

After Rumble got injured at the Wonderbolts Academy while trying out, he and Scootaloo walked around the academy and came across the statue of an Earth Pony. General Dauntless told the two of Wind Sock, the Earth Pony who became a Wonderbolt using a Glider to save his friends from certain doom. The next day, using a glider, Rumble flew alongside the Wonderbolts.
