"We're pretty resilient here in Ponyville" — Twilight Sparkle

Synopsis

Story

During a celebration at Sugarcube Corner, the "Anti-Sugar League" marches into Ponyville, protesting for making sugar illegal. Though initially their protests are met with skeptic outlooks, they seem drive up a considerable business that temporarily put major financial damages on both Sugarcube Corner and Sweet Apple Acres. A depressed Pinkie Pie eventually swaps side, becoming a member of the League. Meanwhile, the Cake family set up shop, moving their business to a secret location at Sweet Apple Acres.

After witnessing the misery no sugar has made for Ponyville, and the obsessive habits eating it in private has become for those who still enjoy it (becoming a stand in for substance abuse), Twilight attempts to talk reason into both sides. She is, of course, successful, and the Anti-Sugar League reform to instead praise healthy balanced diets rather than all-or-nothing mindsets.
