Template:Common place A forest is a type of woodland made up of trees and other flora, as well as fauna. Forests are typically not places of settlement, but a few settlements have been built in forests, such as Thicket and the Kirin village.

Forest existed throughout Ponyland, Greater Equestria and the human world and many other realms. In Generation 1 stories, forest were often dark, foreboding places such as the Mystic Forest or the Gloomy Glade, this tradition carried over into My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, with the mysterious Everfree Forest filled with dangerous creatures. In Equestria Girls, given the more industrial setting, natural landforms as a whole were rarely explored, though its equivalent of the Everfree Forest was depicted as a far more peaceful and serene place that was home to Camp Everfree
