Web shorts
Two series of animated shorts were produced in Rainbow Rocks, the 'prelude' series and 'encore' series. The 'prelude' series was released from March 27, 2014 to June 19, 2014 with a total of 8 episodes. The following year, on May 30, 2015, they aired on Discovery Family, making their television debut.
|
Hasbro released the three "encore" videos on March 31, 2015, but reuploaded them on April 2, 2015. Despite the branding, these tracks were instead intended to be a lead up to Equestria Girls: Friendship Games. A lyrics were by the team of Katrina Hadley, Daniel Ingram, Brian Lenard, Jayson Thiessen and Michael Vogel, and were all directed by Rudell.
