Not to be confused with Clear Skies, the Weather Factory employee

Clear Sky is the girlfriend of Quibble Pants, mother of Wind Sprint and widower of her daughters father.

Clear Sky

History

Clear Sky at some point met a stallion whom she fell in love with and had a child with, that child being Wind Sprint. He was a famous athlete whom Clear Sky looked up to greatly. However, tragedy struck when he passed away, leaving an empty void in her daughters life.

Clear Sky would later and fall in love with Quibble Pants and the two hit it off. However, Wind Sprint didn't care for Quibble and made it clear to her mother every moment she could. Regardless, Clear Sky loved Quibble and tried to get her daughter to do so too.

In an attempt to bond with Wind Sprint, Quibble took both of them to Appleoosa to see the Buckball tournament but most importantly, its museum! Clear Sky enjoyed herself in Appleoosa, in spite of camping out for the museum and spent a large amount of time with her daughter. When Quibble introduced them to his close friend Rainbow Dash, he introduced Clear Sky as the most amazing mare he ever knew, though Dash admitted that she couldn't be as awesome as Daring Do. Clear Sky conceded that she probably wasn't but well-meaning hyperbole was always something she loved.

While Quibble was training, Clear Sky and Wind Sprint went to watch Team Ponyville thrash there opponents. When Quibble finally arrived, Clear Sky lamented that she hoped they could all watch the tournament together. Quibble announced that he had a surprise for both of them as he took them to meet his "close friends" and fellow Buckball players, the Ponyville Buckball team! However, after a faux game where Quibble ended up scoring a point for the enemy team, while they were throwing it, Wind Sprint quickly saw through the ploy and realized he wasn't really an athlete and stormed out. Clear Sky, also angry with Quibble, told him that she was going to rethink their relationship, leaving Quibble to believe that she was breaking up with him.

After this, Quibble conceded that it wasn't going to work out and that both Clear Sky and Wind Sprint needed someone special in their lives and he wasn't cut out for it. Rainbow Dash helped convince him that he was foolish for thinking such a thing and made him realize he was going about the wrong way. Soon later, Quibble managed to bond with Wind Sprint by having her teach him how to be sporty. During this, he told Clear Sky that he was sorry and he was okay if she left him, but Clear Sky told him that she wasn't leaving him.

Together, the three ponies became a true family.

Personality

Clear Sky played the role of a mediator in her family dynamic. She knew Quibble's stunts to get Wind Sprint to open up to him were well-meaning and came from a place of love, but also knew the negative effect they were having on both of them. She was a very caring, gentle, loving and thoughtful mare who looked past Quibble's physical weaknesses and generally dorky exterior to realize that he was kind-hearted, funny and caring. Despite being widowed, she seemed to be in high spirits and seemed to still love her deceased lover, and didn't think of Quibble as a replacement, but someone who she shared her heart with.

She was down-to-earth, funny and friendly and got along well with Quibble's friends.

Behind the scenes

Clear Sky shares a similar name with Clear Skies, a pegasus. She first appeared in "Common Ground" voiced by Meredith Salenger, the real life wife of Patton Oswalt and step-mother of Alice Oswalt.
