Canterlot High Stories

Canterlot High Stories is a series of chapter books set in the Equestria Girls universe written by Arden Hayes. The series is three books long, each focused on different characters. The first is centered on Rainbow Dash, the second on Twilight Sparkle and the last on Pinkie Pie. Each book is fairly short, a little over 100 pages long, making them shorter than the Daring Do trilogy and about on part with Best Friends.

Reception

Reception of the books has been generally positive.

Critiques

One of the most noticeable problems with the books is the weird continuity errors. Despite being written in 2018, they seem to constantly contradict or forget about major events that happened in Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree. Such as Flash Sentry coming to grips with the fact that the new Twilight at his school is not the same one he fell in love with and her not having the same feelings for him the original had, and the fact that Twilight had largely accepted the whole Midnight Sparkle thing, while the books state that she's still more-or-less traumatized from the ordeal.

While not necessarily a problem either, the books also have a tendency to use already-established characters names for new, generally minor characters such as Ember, Blaze (Blaze and Lotus.
