In contrast to her friends, whom were all in confusing and strange periods of their life when they befriended one another, Applejack had her life more-or-less figured out. She was described as "the most down-to-earth, resourceful and dependable Earth Pony this side of the [[Brambledowns Dustbowl]]". This lent her to being akin to a rock for her friends and family; an unchanging figure always there for them. She was kind, sincere, and always honest, even if that honesty wasn't what others wanted to hear. This, however, was in contrast to the tragedy she faced early in her life with the untimely passing of her parents.

Applejack valued her friends as if they were her family, and remained close to them well into the later periods of her life. In particular, she was close to Twilight, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash -- theDash—the latter of which was occasionally hinted at being romantic rather than purely platonic. Though her great kindness, Applejack was sometimes stubborn to the point of harming both herself and others.
