Coincidence or obscure reference?

Oubliette is a pretty obscure word, which is the joke. Friendship is Magic #2 and #3 both feature a place called "Ye Olde Oubliette" as a minor set piece. Checking the master transcript list, "Oubliette" was first uttered in the show in the Dungeons & Discords episode.
