Principal Cinch was the principal of Crystal Prep Academy up until after the incident at the Friendship Games incident, in which she was replaced by Cadance.
Biography
Early life
To be written[1]
Friendship Games
Cinch reigned as the principal of the school for an unspecified but presumably long period of time.
She was eventually replaced by Cadance as the new principal.[2]
Canter-Crys
Template:Retcon Somehow retaining her status as principal, Cinch was among the four judges at the Canter-Crystal Science Fair, an alternative to the Friendship Games, with Dean Cadance being her fellow Crystal Prep representative. At the science fair, Cinch appeared to be uncomfortable around Canterlot High students and staff, specially Twilight Sparkle, who she felt some disdain for. Nonetheless, she judged the inventions and projects done by students fairly and eventually deemed Foggy Blue and Hornet the winners of the fiar thanks to their invention, the Robot dog.[3]
Personality
By far, Cinch's most pronounced character trait was her uncaring personality. Though she had the childish desire to win the Friendship Games, an event designed to bring others closer, through any means necessary, she had no love for her students whatsoever. It was implied throughout the film that her presence was a toxic one that brought the worst out of her students, given her constant pressure and verbal abuse, making her students act worse than they truly were. This can be seen when Midnight Sparkle was causing the barriers between the worlds to be destroyed, nearly killing students in the process, however several Crystal Prep students bravely saved Canterlot High students, ensuring no causalities. Another sign of this can be seen after she was replaced by Principal Cadance. After this event, several Crystal Prep students suddenly started acting happier and began to indulge their own interests more rather than work as slaves to the school.
Cinch also lacked a sense of humor, rarely, if ever, smiling, laughing or joking. This alone often put her at odds with Principal and Vice Principal Celestia and Luna respectively, who were jovial, warm-hearted people by nature.
