2009 is the 28th year after the release of My Pretty Pony and the final year that Generation 3 was the primary franchise of the My Little Pony brand, though it would have minor releases in 2010 and 2011, before being overtaken by My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic entirely by 2012. While several toylines were released, relatively few animated features and other media titles were released.
