John Grusd is an American photographer, producer and director of various animated properties, most known for his work in the 1980s on DiC Entertainment series' such as The Super Mario Super Show and many more, as well as work on Ghostbusters and G.I. Joe. From 2005 to 2009, he directed numerous My Little Pony features for the franchises third generation of media.

Grusd received a degree in Industrial Design, which lead to him getting a job at Filmation as a FX worker. Working there for 11 years, Grusd gained solid experience in the animation industry, leading to his career at DiC. In 2016, he admitted he was happy at the memetic evolution of many of his early works.[1]
