Tress MacNeille, born Teressa Claire Payne (June 20, 1951) is an American voice actress and singer who is perhaps best known for appearing in shows by Matt Groening, such as The Simpsons, Futurama and most recently, Disenchantment, but has also appeared in shows such as Hey Arnold!, Tiny Toon Adventures, Rugrats, Animaniacs and House of Mouse.
MacNeille was born in Chicago, Illinois. Growing u as a fan of cartoons, Macneille wanted to become a voice actress by the age of eight but instead chose a more "practical career", feeling she could not realize her full ambition. She gradulated from the University of California, Berkeley and later attended broadcasting school, becoming a disc jockey.
MacNeille began acting through a series of minor voice over roles and minor radio gigs. In 1979, she landed her first voice over role for an animated series by appearing in Scooby-Doo and Scrappy Doo and in 1983, appeared in music video for "Ricky", a song by "Weird Al" Yankovic. Later in the 1980s, she appeared in My Little Pony portraying the character of Hydia.
Another few noteworthy role MacNeille portrayed around this time was Queen Merla in Voltron, being the only female character in that show not portrayed by B.J. Ward. Since 1999, she has become the official voice actress for Wilma Flintstone in The Flintstones, acting alongside the aforementioned Ward who voiced Betty Rubble, before the role was passed onward to Grey DeLisle in 2003.
Also the 90s, MacNeille would portray Jain and Tandi in Fallout and Fallout 2 respectively and became the voice of Daisy Duck.
