Beginning his career in 1973 as a writer under then-editor of [[DC Comics]] Julius Schwartz, Pasko wrote for many iconic comic books, such as ''Superman'', ''Doctor Fate'', ''Wonder Women'', ''Justice League of America'' and took up the mantle of writing ''The Saga of the Swamp Thing'' when Len Wein stepped down from the position. A prolific letter-hack, Pasko was affectionately given the nickname "'''Pesky'''" by DC staff.
 
Beyond comics, Pasko wrote many television series; live-action and animated. Legendary shows such as ''{{W|Roseanne}}'' and ''{{W|Batman: The Animated Series}}'', as well as iconic staples of the 80s such as ''[[G.I. Joe]]'' and ''{{W|CadilacsThundarr andthe DinosaursBarbarian}}''. Between [[1985]] and [[1989]], Pasko had a writing partnership with [[Rebecca Parr]], who in her own right would go on to write for critically acclaimed television series such as ''{{W|Cheers}}''.
