Paul Williams (September 19, 1940) is an American composer, singer, songwriter, and actor. Williams has had a versatile and colorful career, writing for several musical acts and appearing in several high profile films and productions as an actor. In the world of animation, Williams portrayed himself in an episode of Dexter's Laboratory, scored the cult-classic film The Secret of N.I.M.H and wrote several songs for The Muppets. An Oscar-nominated composer, Williams was promoted to the president and chairman of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.
