Nicole Gauss, also known as Caakes, is an animation artist and character designer who designed a number of characters in the first season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic alongside Mike Gilbert and Robin Mitchell, as well as a few uncredited designers.
Gauss would remain somewhat active in the fandom as the years went on, performing a Reddit AMA on r/MyLittlePony and performed an art show at Unreal City entitled My Little Pony: The Art of Nicole Gauss, both in 2013.[1][2] Gauss used to create fanart, often humanizations, of various My Little Pony characters and uploaded them to her DeviantArt, however, at some point she stopped and deactivated her account, leaving much of her art potentially lost.
As of 2022, Gauss is still active in the animation industry and works as a storyboard revisionist for the popular children's show Fireman Sam.
