Madeline Kahn (September 29, 1942 - December 3, 1999) was an American actress, voice actress, comedian and singer. She was known for her many appearances in the cult films of Peter Bogdanovich and Mel Brooks, such as What's Up, Doc?, Young Frankenstein, High Anxiety, History of the World, Part I, as well as Academy Award-nominated roles in Paper Moon and Blazing Saddles.

In 1998, Kahn was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. In October 1999, Kahn married her long-time partner John Hansbury, only 54 days before her death.
