Holding Discord's alliance with Baast-and his theft of Anubis' "favorite bone" against him, Anubis prepared to have Discord and his companions thrown into a dungeon. However, before he could sentence them, Baast and her rebels attacked, providing a distraction that allowed Discord's party to escape unharmed. {{IDW|Sweetie Belle}}, having recognized the parallels between Anubis and Nightmare Moon, advised Baast to employ the [[Magic of Friendship]] against Anubis. It is unknown how the resulting conflict played out.

 

==Behind the scenes==

Anubis was a deity of {{W|Egyptian mythology}}. Anubis was his {{W|Ancient Greek language}} Greek name, while his original name was jnpw. Anubis was the god of death, mummification, embalming, the afterlife, cemeteries, tombs, and the Underworld and was generally depicted as either a canine or a man with a canine head. Another Egyptian god, [[Tehuti]] has appeared in the ''[[Friendship is Magic]]'' continuity as well.
