History of the Preservers was a book written in or before the Era of Princess Celestia. It was located within the Royal Library of Canterlot. Apparently, it is about the history of the "Preservers", whoever they may be.
Behind the scenes
"Preservers" may be a reference to the ancient race in Star Trek, The Preservers.
