Generation 1
Generation 1 was a generating usually considered to have lasted from 1981 and 1992. It was not the first generation of the brand; that honor goes to My Pretty Pony by Bonnie Zacherle, however, it marks the first era of the franchise having mass media, and a toyline on an monumental scale.
